What is Kaqoo?

Kaqoo is an online trading community using software which runs on your website and under your brand and shares your listings with other websites within the community.

Each member of the community has a website selling by auction, but-it now, fixed price sales and by classified advertisements. By using Kaqoo Software on their own website and, utilizing their own community of friends, acquaintances, business contacts and customers, users can build a thriving auction and classified website in their local area, or, in a specialized field. Everyone can do this because we all share our listings.

How does it work?

Take this example using our test sites:

This is an auction site anyone can use, just like other online auctions, to buy and sell.

2. http://www.ubiz.ru/kaqoo/index.php

This is an auction site using the Kaqoo Software which has chosen to display all items which appear on 1.

If you check you will see they are the same on both sites.

3. http://www.collectorscarauction.org/index.php

This site is an auction using the Kaqoo Software. It takes the "Automotive" part of the Kaqoo Software; all listings on this site appear on this site and on 1.

Check them and see! Just change the category in 1.to Automotive and see them all there.

Any item, listed on any site, will show up on another site in the Network which has chosen to display the same category. i.e. List a car on number 1 and it will appear on 1, 2 & 3. This is because they all show the category "Automotive".

List in the category "Antiques" on 1, it will also show on 2, but not on 3, because 3 is not subscribed to the category. 3 only wants to show "Automotive".

Each site is run independently but will show each others listings so that buyers can see and bid for any item at any site in the Network which shows it. All bids show on all sites. It does not matter where the bid comes from, the winning bidder and the seller are both informed about the sale and complete the sale personally. Kaqoo and, your site are only venues and are not involved in the selling process; exactly like most other online auction sites.

The Kaqoo Software is designed to allow each site to "own" their customers. The site owner can set the fees; or not set any at all. The site owner will deal with any questions from their own users. As a site owner you have complete control over your site. Of course a site owner can list any items on the Network for free.

Kaqoo is designed for everyones listings to receive maximum visibility across the Network of many sites as well as on Kaqoo.com.

OK that sounds like a good idea, but this is going to cost a fortune isn't it?

No! Kaqoo Software is free!

Kaqoo will be showing Google Advertising on items listed, so, if you decide to run a free site, we can make some money!

When charging users fees on your site, Kaqoo process all auction fee payments, you don't need a payment processor, that is all taken care of! We provide the content and you deliver it to your users. We split the fees 50/50. The split is only of the AUCTION FEES, not your SALES. You complete sales with your buyers directly and retain all your sales proceeds. Your income is directly proportionate to the auction fees you make from your site.

You retain 50% of all earnings; Kaqoo retain 50%. The process is transparent, you can see the income your site produces in real time in your Kaqoo account.

All payments are held in your individual account and we will send payment within 30 days of the end of every calendar month that your earnings amount to US$100 or more. Your account information is available to you at all times.

Why do Kaqoo process all the charges?

As a Network we have negotiated lower charges from our suppliers and we pass this to you. By processing all the fees we can pass the balance to your account so that you can see at any time the exact amount you have earned.

Do Kaqoo process the payments between buyers and sellers?

Not yet! We process only charges involving auction/classified fees.

What are the requirements needed for my website to use Kaqoo Software?

You only need to be able to use PHP on your website. If you don't know what this is, just ask the host who provides your web space. 99.999% of hosting companies have PHP enabled so you should be OK! You do not need a database or to store files. You need less than 2MB of web space to run the Kaqoo Software

How do I join the community?

Joining couldn't be simpler! You answer a few simple questions about your site configuration, country, currency, language and, when that is completed you download the Kaqoo Software. When you have uploaded the Software to your server, using FTP; set just a few simple configuration settings and you can be up and selling on your own site within the hour.

But I run a free site?

OK, no problem, you can still join and use our service! You are able to charge for your service at any time.

What if I want to give my users a credit for signing-up?

No problem. It is your site and you can set charges as you wish. We provide a very simple way to do that!

I own the site, do I have to pay the site fees?

Absolutely not! As we say, it is your site and you can run it as you wish! We provide a facility for you to add credit to your, or your users, account. Of course you will not be able to draw this out as cash! You can use this to "pay" any listing and final value fees you set, as well as "home page featured" etc.

How do listings from my site show up on Kaqoo.com?

All listings from your site will show as standard listings on Kaqoo.com and on other Network Sites using the categories you chose. Items listed with paid for features will be exclusive to your site.

Do I have to keep your site design?

Absolutely not! We would like every site to be different. You can change the look and feel of your Kaqoo to suit your own needs. Kaqoo is a CSS template design which can be easily modified by your web designer. We encourage you to share your designs and design tips by participating with the community through our forums.

What about product development; am I going to be left with an old product?

All Kaqoo Software updates will be available for you to download at all times. There is no charge for updates. Any improvements or features you want, just ask and we will do our best to implement them. There is always room for good ideas!

Do you have the Kaqoo in languages other than English?

German is 60% complete and Russian 25%. But if Kaqoo isn't yet available in your language you can help! We have a translation project, which has already started, to make Kaqoo available in as many languages as possible. We would love to see Kaqoo available throughout the world and with your help we can achieve our aim. Do you do the promotion for my site?

We promote your site on the Kaqoo Network. Being linked on and to Kaqoo will increase your Google Pagerank.

You can promote your site in any legal way you wish; search engines, banner ads, Google advertising. Any way which helps your site to become more popular means there will be more income coming directly to you. You will also be able to join the exclusive Kaqoo Owners Forum where you will learn tips and hints to increase your sites visibility.

Can existing auction sites join?

Yes! We actively encourage all auction sites to join us. You will still retain control of your customers and listings and you can set your own pricing. Our programmers can help you transfer your existing auctions and member databases over to Kaqoo.

My auction uses flat file databases, can I still transfer?

Yes, our programmers can deal with any data transfer.

Can I use my Freewebs website?

Freewebs do not allow PHP so you are unable to use Kaqoo on their service.

Yuk! Why is the design so plain?

Kaqoo comes in a very simple wrapper! This allows each website to customize the design to match the look and feel of the rest of their website. Of course it is impossible for us to know what each website will look like, so we have produced a design that can be changed quickly and easily.
